Gold Bullion becoming 'more of a safe haven'

Gold Bullion is becoming increasingly attractive to investors as its safe-haven qualities are magnified by surrounding events.

That is according to David Thurtell, an analyst at Citigroup Inc in London, who told Bloomberg's BusinessWeek that the surrounding economic frailties make the safety of the precious metal evermore appealing.

He told the news provider: "Gold will become more and more of a safe-haven as people just want safety."

Such sentiment has been supported by various industry analysts, according to Reuters, which reveals that the yellow metal is becoming "increasingly attractive".

The news provider said: "Gold is becoming increasingly attractive as a hedge against sovereign risk and the resulting volatility in the foreign exchange markets."
