Goldbelt updates resource estimate at Inata deposit

Goldbelt Resources has updated the resource estimate for its Inata gold deposit in Burkina Faso.

The new estimate is for measured and indicated resources of 1.397 million ounces of gold, broken down into 378,000 ounces of measured resources over 5.2 metres at 2.3 grams per tonne of gold, and one million ounces of indicated resources over 19.8 metres at 1.6 grams per tonne of gold.

"Since completion of the pre-feasibility study in October 2006, Goldbelt has added over 60 per cent to the total tonnage and over 47 per cent contained gold to the measured and indicated resources at Inata," said Goldbelt vice president of exploration and business development, Peter Turner.

The results represent growth of 16 per cent in the tonnage and contained gold of measured and indicated resources from an earlier March 2007 estimate.
