Bloomberg Japan: Gold Demand Rises on NIRP

LONDON, 14 March 2016 – Global news and data provider Bloomberg's Japanese language service today cites BullionVault client trading in a report on how central-bank policy is driving more investors to buy gold in 2016.

Tokyo's move to negative interest-rate policy (NIRP) has led to strong demand at Japan's largest gold retail outlets, Bloomberg says.

"The move to gold among retail investors is showing up elsewhere," it goes on, saying that BullionVault saw the number of new customers more than double in February, reaching the highest since April 2013.
