Bond prices are jumping as financial markets fear recession, the report quotes Adrian Ash, BullionVault director of research.
That's driving down longer-term interest rates, but inflation expectations are also falling, "putting a floor under real US interest rates [and] capping gold's upside.
"The bigger victim is silver, now down to fresh 2019 lows."
