LONDON, 11 July 2018 – Leading French investment magazine Capital today quotes analysis from BullionVault on the return to selling gold bullion among French households.
Highlighting BullionVault's analysis of data from specialist consultancy Metals Focus, France saw constant net selling of privately-owned gold prior to the global financial crisis. Alone among European nations, French households have now returned to net selling since 2015.
"This is because of the economic recovery," says Capital.fr, "which makes the traditional safe haven less attractive. The price of an ounce has fallen by 35% since its historic record of September 2011."
