FT Special Report: How US Rate Hikes Will Hit Gold

LONDON, 6 July 2015 – A special report on precious metals from Financial Times' specialist title FT Adviser today quotes BullionVault's Adrian Ash alongside other market experts on how a US rate rise will affect gold prices.

The report – recognized for credits in the Continuing Professional Development qualifications (CPD) for financial advisors – also quotes Juan Carlos Artigas, director of investment research at market development group the World Gold Council, and James Sutton, portfolio manager at J.P.Morgan's JPM Natural Resources fund.

"The market looks to have discounted the Fed's first rate hike," says Adrian, "just as the Fed's quantitative easing taper was priced into gold before it began.

"Further delays will prove supportive. Longer term, higher rates will only count against gold if they outpace the rate of inflation."
