Hard Assets Investor: Why I Started BullionVault

NEW YORK, 19 March 2013 - A detailed interview with founder and CEO of BullionVault Paul Tustain is posted today by Hard Assets Investor, the specialist site for natural resources investing.

"It wasn't a futures contract. It was what's called unallocated gold," says Paul, explaining the gold investment he made in 2001 - by mistake - which led him to build and launch BullionVault four years later.

"This [was] gold which exists on the bookkeeping of a bank. So I was a bank's creditor. All I wanted was to own some of the big bars. This is a transaction which I thought more and more people are going to want to do.

"My skill is IT, post-trade processing [for] organizing equities and bond trades. [So] I could build this software so that people could interact with real physical gold at the most efficient level across the internet. And that's how BullionVault started."

Talking through the key efficiencies of the professional bullion market, plus his outlook for the long gold and silver bull markets from here, Paul also explains how action on the currency market is affecting bullion prices today.
