CNBC: If the US Defaults

NEW YORK, 9 October 2013 – BullionVault's Miguel Perez-Santalla, vice-president for business development, was a guest this lunchtime on CNBC's flagship Streetsigns news show.

Talking about the current US government shutdown, and the possibility of a default if the Treasury's debt ceiling isn't raised, "Gold theoretically could have the same problem as during the Lehman collapse" of 2008, explained Miguel.

"It could drop off at first and then make a comeback. [But] I think if we do default it's going to be a little late for people wanting to get into gold, because it will probably skyrocket."
