MSN Money: Gold & Silver Diverge

LONDON, 6 May 2011 - Comments from Adrian Ash, head of research at secure, low-cost precious metals exchange BullionVault, appear today in a report on the diverging path of gold and silver prices from US finance site, MSN Money.

"Gold prices are holding up better than silver, a rare divergence," says Alix Steel, senior reporter at the New York-based news service, syndicated to MIcrosoft's financial news street.

"Gold up, silver down is a very rare event," confirms Adrian - "less than 14% of all trading days since 1968.

Before this week, gold rose while silver fell for two days running "only 125 times" in 43 years, BullionVault's analysis shows, with "three consecutive days happening only once."
