AP: Harrods adds gold bars to its luxury image

LONDON, 15 October 2009 ? BullionVault, the world's leading gold ownership service online, features today in global press coverage of Harrods' new gold-bullion department at its flagship store in Knightsbridge, London.

"The financial environment has kindled a new demand for physical gold amongst private investors in Britain," the Associated Press news wire quotes Chris Hall, head of Harrods Gold Bullion.

Picked up by major news sites including the New York Times, CBS, NBC, the Huffington Post, Sydney Morning Herald, Sify in India and the Times of London, the AP's report then quotes BullionVault Head of Research Adrian Ash, who spoke to the newswire from the gold specialist's offices in West London.

"The fact that a company like Harrods is moving into the physical gold market is interesting," said Adrian.

"It shows gold is moving back into the mainstream..."
